BitTorrent site can use Last.fm API
Last.fm, the music recommendation site owned by US media conglomerate CBS, has today given Pirate Bay the thumbs up to use its servers to add radio streams to BitTorrent searches.
The Swedish anti-copyright site has added a Last.fm widget to results pages as part of a new drop-down of extra information on artists.
A spokesman for London-based Last.fm told The Reg that while it would not seek to endorse Pirate Bay, it has no control over who uses its API.
Even if it did, to stop Pirate Bay wouldn’t be “in the spirit of” the API, he said.

This makes CommandBurner suitable for integration with programs, scripts and batch files. We imagine that CommandBurner would be useful for tasks such as scripting backups to CD/DVD, but feel free to find other reasons to use it!
For added convenience, CommandBurner can also be opened in console mode, allowing the user to perform the same CD/DVD burning operations using a simple point-and-click interface.

Equal opportunity pwner
A US-based security researcher has published a single piece of code that can remotely compromise both PCs and Macs as long as they are running Apple’s QuickTime media player.
The exploit is at least the fourth to target a newly discovered security flaw in the way QuickTime interacts with servers that stream audio and video. Up until now, the exploits have only targeted machines running Windows operating systems, but Lorenzo Hernandez, the researcher who prefers to go by the name Larry, says his exploit also targets Tiger and Leopard versions of OS X running on both Intel-made processors or older machines that use the PowerPC chip.

The 3G iPhone has been naught but a rumor until AT&T (NYSE: T) CEO Randall Stephenson opened his mouth recently and spilled the beans. Oh, how Steve Jobs must be fuming right now. All Stephenson would commit to is “next year”, but that’s enough for many.
Though the iPhone has been a good seller since its June 29 debut, there are many who have decided against purchasing it because it is limited to EDGE data networks and can’t access faster 3G wireless data speeds. Looks like they won’t have to wait too much longer before a 3G version of the iPhone becomes available.
