Apple Denies “Citizen Journalist Reportâ€Â
Apple’s stock took a brief roller coaster ride this morning after a CNN “citizen journalist†wrote that an “insider†reported that Steve Jobs had been rushed to the hospital with chest pains.
Apple immediately said that the rumor was false.
Company spokeswoman Katie Cotton said, “It’s not true. There is no truth to the rumor.†She said she did not know the identity of “johntw,†the individual who posted the rumor, and was not willing to speculate on what the motive for the posting might have been.
