A new patent reveals dual-sided iPhone nano with akward user interface

The iPhone nano rumors are rising again with a new patent that has emerged in the US Patents&Trademark Office’s database. The document describes a concept iPhone nano device with dual-sided display that has you operating a user interface by sliding your finger across the back, touch-sensitive side. Could it really work?

The original document was credited to John Elias, part owner of FingerWorks, a gesture recognition company that Apple acquired in early 2005. Although the patent is now owned by Apple, Elias’ involvement indicates seriousness because the engineer has been deeply involved in all aspects of multi-touch technologies at Apple thus far.
