If you have TiVo, Windows Media Center, SageTV or some other device to capture TV content, iPodifier will automatically grab the content from these sources and put it on your iPod, nicely organized into video playlists. You missed The Daily Show lastnight? It will be on your iPod for the train ride in the morning.
Basically, iPodifier is an application that automates the process of getting videos onto your iPod. Unlike other transcoding software that simple re-encodes the video into an iPod compatible format, iPodifier takes it a few steps further. iPodifier automates the entire process of getting video from any source onto your iPod.
iPodifier is free.

Do you have iTunes? Do you have an iPod? I guess you don’t have an iPod, otherwise you probably wouldn’t be reading this. I have iTunes, I don’t have an iPod, but I wanted to be able to sync my MP3 player with iTunes, regardless of what brand it was… and so iTunes Sync was born. In just a few easy steps you can synchronize any iTunes playlist with any MP3 player that shows up as a drive letter in Windows. You can use either a standard playlist or a dynamically updating smart playlist to synchronize your MP3 Player. It’s as simple as 3 easy steps:
- Setup a playlist in iTunes that you want to sync to your MP3 player
- Configure your MP3 player in iTunes Sync by giving it a name, selecting an “identification file or folder” and selecting a playlist from iTunes
- Now just click Synchronize and watch the magic happen!
You can configure as many different MP3 players as you need and synchronize each one with the different iTunes’ playlists. Amazing! Magic! Technology!

reTune is a very useful tool for all iPod users who, for some reason, are not happy about iTunes and want to manage their music files for themselves. With reTune, you can copy music to the iPod with Explorer, Finder, Konqueror, Nautilus or any other file manager you like (yes, cp will work, too ;) and have it played back by the iPod with (almost) no hassles. The only thing you have to do is start this litte program just after plugging the iPod into your USB port and before unplugging it.
reTune scans the whole iPod volume for playable files, retrieving metadata (e.g. ID3 tags) from these files, and moving them to a location where the iPod can find them. The collected metadata and file names are then written to an iTunesDB file, which the iPod requires for proper blayback. This process is called freezing. reTune keeps track of the original filenames of the files added to the database. Thus, it is possible to unfreeze the song database, i.e. move the music files back to the location where they came from (all inside the iPod’s filesystem, of course).
Please note that reTune is still in development and may or may not work for you. You should always create a backup of the /iPod_Control/iTunes directory before trying reTune.

PodLift is a Freeware program which allows you to browse the contents of any iPod, listen to any tracks you want, and transfer tracks and playlists to your computer, either to the directory of your choice or directly into iTunes into the playlist of your choice.
You can configure a few basic things, such as whether to let iTunes copy your music for you, have PodLift copy it, or have PodLift copy it and not add it to iTunes at all (iTunes is not actually required to use PodLift). You can also configure how files are saved (whether to create artist\album directories, and what information to include in the filename).
You can view all the playlists on your iPod. You can select what playlist to copy tracks into in iTunes. With one click you can create a copy of a playlist in iTunes.
PodLift uses the Apple QuickTime COM control to play tracks, so you need to install QuickTime to use PodLift.
PodLift has no ads, does not access the internet at all and does not change any settings in your computer.
