MySpace Music Rumored to Launch by Monday
A Reuters story posted Wednesday claims that “sources familiar with the matter” predict the launch of a MySpace Music service with the backing of at least of the three major labels “within five days,” but stated also that “It was not clear when MySpace Music would be launched. Some claim the service could be launched as early as today.
Apparently, EMI is the lone major that has yet to sign on, and a Universal Music Group lawsuit against MySpace would probably have to be settled in advance of the deal (read: MySpace will have to write at least one a large check).
