New sources support claim for NVIDIA chipset in new MacBooks

Rumors last month suggested an NVIDIA chipset for the next revision of Apple’s laptops. AppleInsider’s sources are now telling it that the new notebooks are expected to use NVIDIA’s MCP79 mobile chipset.

Reports surfaced in July that Apple would use a mobile chipset from NVIDIA in its redesigned notebooks instead of adopting Intel’s Montevina platform. We though NVIDIA was the most likely second source. Last month, we heard a rumor that the chipset would in fact be from NVIDIA’s MCP7x series.
