Virtual headphone technology in the works at Microsoft

If VoIP is the future, and Microsoft believes strongly in it, then one of the first things that needs to be done is improve the ability of Joe User to make calls that don?「どィび「t suck. Users do insane things like place their microphones 4 inches away from their desktop speakers, which are blaring at high volume (of course). Surely the VoIP revolution isn?「どィび「t all about line echo and feedback!

To this end, Microsoft is working on ?「どィ?virtual headphone?「どィャ technology that would allow your desktop speakers to function more like headphones, and in the process, make it more convenient to use voice services from a PC.
