The Intel PROSet/Wireless Software is the connection manager software that works in conjunction with Intel PRO/Wireless Network Connection hardware to connect your notebook computer to a wireless LAN.

Intel PROSet/Wireless Software provides the freedom and flexibility to work and play on the go without hunting for a phone jack, network cable, or plugging in a special card. Using industry tested compatibility, you can use the software to easily connect to wireless LAN networks in your home, at the office, or on the road at hotspots in airports, hotels and coffee shops.

New capabilities include using 802.11e QoS to make VoIP calls, and greater control over centrally deploying corporate wide profiles and settings on clients.

In addition to supporting standards-based solutions, Intel PROSet/Wireless Software is designed to support Cisco Compatible Extensions v4.0. Intel is the lead collaborator with Cisco on Cisco Compatible Extensions.
