Case of the mysterious Apple tablet set to be solved next week
After what feels like years of rumors, leaks, and wild speculation about a touchscreen Mac tablet, it all boils down to this: a typically cryptic invitation from Apple to an unveiling of “our newest creation” next Wednesday.
The mysterious invitation doesn’t reveal any details about exactly what will be unveiled on the morning of January 27; indeed, all we got was a bunch of multicolored paint splatters with a white Apple logo on top, a one-sentence tease (“come see our latest creation”), and directions to the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco.
But if Steve Jobs doesn’t come out from behind the curtain next Wednesday with an “iSlate” in his hands, I will personally go to the nearest clothing store, buy a hat, and eat it.
