Invitations go out to Google Voice

Google Voice, the company’s phone and voicemail management service, has begun issuing invitations to users who had previously requested an account.

The service grew out of the previous GrandCentral, which Google acquired almost two years ago.

With Google Voice, a user gets one phone number that can be set to ring any or all of the user’s “regular” phones — work phone only during office hours, home phone only in the evening, cell phone at all times, or any other combination.
