Struggling with Vista “Ultimate Extras,” Microsoft makes (some) progress
Microsoft’s plan to maximize revenue by creating as many differently-priced Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) of Windows Vista has generated some debate as to the merits of Vista’s product divisions. At the very high end, Microsoft has positioned Vista “Ultimate Edition” as the end-all, be-all of the Windows Vista experience, but it comes at a price: Ultimate costs $160 more than Premium for a new copy and $100 more for an upgrade.
