Malware authors shift strategy
Malware authors are shying away from spreading their creations through email attachments. Instead they try and lure their victims to specially crafted websites from which malware is downloaded to unwitting visitors’ systems, claimed email security vendor BlackSpider Technologies.
The firm has been logging a drop in the number of virus-laden emails since the beginning of this year. June set a new record with 0.68 per cent of total email traffic, down from the 0.73 per cent measured in May.
